Visitors Book

The visitors book draws together in one place all the comments left by website visitors. Comments may relate to the website as a whole or to individual archive records. The former comments can only been seen here in the visitors book whereas the latter comments may be seen here and when viewing the archive record to which they relate.

Comments may be stand-alone or part of a comment thread (or conversation). A comment thread is created when one or more replies are made to an existing comment. Further replies can then be made to the original comment or any of the replies to extend the thread.

Enties in the visitor book are listed in reverse chronological order, with the newest entry first. If the entry relates to a specific archive record, select the Record Title at the start of the entry to see the full record details and any other comments left about that archive record. Select the Reply link at the end of a comment to relate your comment to that comment.

If you wish to leave a comment about the website in general and not reply to a previous comment, select the Add a Comment link at the foot of the visitors book entry list to display the comment form and submit a comment. If you wish to leave a comment about a particular archive record that is not reply to a previous comment, navigate to the record details page as described above and select the Add a Comment link at the foot of the archive record to display the comment form and submit a comment.
